Context

The client found itself in a rapid phase of change and growth, driven in part by the economic response to COVID-19 and the integration of its core business segments. This change highlighted several internal constraints to growth, and the business's digitisation was identified as one key to unlocking its full future potential.

Opportunity

The client needed support to develop a digital ambition and roadmap for the business. As part of the core engagement team, our work needed to amplify the customer's voice and support the client in thinking through digital opportunities across internal functions, customer engagement, and supplier/supply chain effectiveness.

Outcome

We adopted a design thinking approach to digital strategy to design the path forward. We undertook a business and customer discovery process, engaging over 50 staff and customers to understand their experiences and identify digital opportunities for the business. The insights from this discovery process served as input to two workshops with senior leaders to develop the business's digital ambition and roadmap.

As the analyst and designer…

  • I worked as part of a team of four with a manager, director, and partner and often collaborated with the client.

  • I designed surveys, discussion guides, workshop assets and the deliverable pack.

  • I facilitated interviews and workshops with staff, customers, and clients and translated the raw data into valuable insights.

  • I assisted in project management activities, such as risk and quality management, writing status updates, scheduling and supporting with billing.
